According to legend, Marusya was born in the family of the officer of the Poltava Cossack Regiment Gordiy Churai.

The date of birth is often called January 25, 1625.

The girl had not only a charming appearance, but also a beautiful voice, musical and poetic talent and great love, which ended tragically.
