OWN WORLD OF MIKHAIL VRUBEL

March 17 marks 165 years since the birth of Mikhail Aleksandrovich Vrubel (March 17, 1856 - April 14, 1910) - Russian Symbolist artist, master of watercolor and oil painting.

Vrubel made illustrations for books, monumental works, portraits, and was engaged in scenography. In each of the areas of art he left masterpieces. Art of the early twentieth century often used myths. They were also addressed by Mikhail Vrubel, who was possessed by the image of the Demon, inspired by Lermontov's poem.

The Demon first appeared to Vrubel in Kyiv while working in the St Volodymyr's Cathedral. This image occupies a special place in his work, and the mosaic system of painting a picture becomes a characteristic feature of the artist. More information here.
