International Literacy Day is one of the international days celebrated in the United Nations system.
The holiday was introduced and celebrated not only in honor of those who gave mankind writing, but also all those who teach children and young people and spread literacy. The literacy of modern person consists of a desire for self-improvement, the acquisition of new knowledge, love of books, skills in working with modern information technologies.
